Colts Neck: Fun in Every Season
Summer
There are quite a few exciting annual events that take place in Colts Neck. The Colts Neck Fair, which occurs each August, is arguably one of the most significant summer events, having activities that are fun for the whole family. This fair takes place within Bucks Mill Park, one of the many picturesque parks in our beautiful town. Dorbrook Park, located on the reservoir off of county route 537, has a fabulous small water park called a “sprayground” for young children in addition to its athletic fields, courts, walking trails and traditional playground. The Fourth of July celebrations in town are among the most spectacular in the area, taking place within Bucks Mill Park on the evening of the fourth. Eastmont Orchards, one of the larger farms in town has a fabulous orchard in which you and your family can pick produce from the tree (or vine). The summer is peach season and there are few things more refreshing in the warm summer months than a freshly picked peach! Recreation events are also available in the summer, one of the most popular of which is Colts Neck Polo, where one can enjoy a summer Sunday socializing and taking in an exhilarating game.
Fall
Fall is one of the most beautiful seasons to live in Colts Neck Township. In addition to the stunning foliage one can see in his or her own backyard, it is harvest season and that makes it one of the most exciting times of the year! Delicious Orchards is one of the major attractions in town, and is acclaimed for its quality produce and baked goods across the tri-state area. In addition to having a store of unrivaled quality in your own town, Colts Neck is famous for its charming farms. This is the season in which this unique and well protected asset truly shines. Pumpkin and apple picking, hayrides, and Halloween- themed events draw thousands to our area each year. Your family will love the opportunity to experience these seasonal resources at their leisure. Fall recreation activities also flourish for everyone in the family as school begins.
Winter
The chilly months are a favorite of many Colts Neck residents. In addition to holiday activities in the early winter, recreation activities are scheduled regularly throughout the season. Enjoy adults’ classes for dancing, fencing, yoga, aerobics, and a variety of additional activities while your children are at school or after your work day. Recreational basketball leagues are available for men and women, and a baseball class is held after school hours for children and preteens. Winter sports such as sledding are always fun on snowy days and Colts Neck is within driving distance of major ski destinations.
Spring
The spring is also a wonderful time to live in town! Parents and children have a wealth of opportunity to take advantage of the scheduled activities in the blossoming season. The annual Easter Egg hunt and breakfast with the Easter Bunny is scheduled at the Colts Neck Firehouse each Easter season, and several children’s activities are offered by the department of recreation. Several sports are also available for adults and children in this season. Some of the loveliest features in town are the superb golfing facilities. There are five golf courses in town, some of which are public while others are limited to those with memberships. Hominy Hill Golf Club, located on Mercer Road, is a county course which can be played by anyone living within Monmouth County for a reasonable fee. Pebble Creek Golf Club, located on county route 537, is also a public course. Colts Neck Golf Club, located on Flock Road, is semi-private. Amongst the private courses in town are Trump National Golf Club of Colts Neck, located on Trump Boulevard, and Due Process Golf Club, located on County Road 537. All golf courses are truly fantastic, and avid golf enthusiasts can spend the spring, summer, and fall enjoying the challenging courses.
